The brazing of stainless steel materials is carried out in a vacuum or protective atmosphere. It is typically used for brazing heat exchangers, such as automotive EGR coolers. The composition includes boron as a melting point inhibitor, enabling brazing at lower temperatures. This reduces the interaction between the brazing material and the base metal, allowing brazing of thin workpieces.
